Having a doula made me feel less anxious and scared & this in turn helped me relax and focus on the labor itself and not all of the things that could go wrong.
During the process of labor the she helped me into positions to encourage my baby to turn from posterior presentation, and then the baby turned, which was Great!
Most importantly I would use my doula again because of the emotional support and the ability to share this beautiful experience with someone who actually enjoys their job!

I accepted the fact that I needed an emergency cesarean and there was no other way to safely deliver little Alexis. When things got hectic I stayed focused on Tonya with her calm and soothing presence. This helped me block out most of the chaos and concentrate on a safe delivery. The emotional support for myself, my husband and my family was invaluable.

The greatest benefit in having a doula present for our birth was having someone on our side who believed in us birthing as we wished to birth. We appreciated our doula Tonya's suggestions without interference and her quiet yet strong supportive spirit. She is a calm, confident, reliable person who seems to feel relaxed in such a tense environment. This confidence reassured us.
The photographs that Tonya took for us were beautiful, very discreet and tasteful in selection on what to photo. She was non-intrusive yet at the same time she was able to capture "moments" that will help us hold our memories even better for a lifetime.
What we liked best about our experience with Tonya was the photographic life long memories and the love and caring spirit that encompassed our birthing room. We liked the feeling that everything was taken care of even if we couldn't care for it. We could relax and let our baby out.
